Your skin camouflage questions answered
Q. Should I instruct a skin camouflage expert report?
If your client has permanent visible scarring then the use of skin camouflage products will probably improve their appearance and self-confidence. It is a non-invasive, quick and inexpensive solution. A desktop report using professional photographs is an alternative to a report with consultation. Please make an enquiry using the simple to complete form – Expert Report enquiry
Q. How will I benefit from skin camouflage products?
By using the correct skin camouflage products your appearance can be improved almost immediately. You can also have confidence that the products you apply are going to stay in place. People will start focusing on you and not on your skin condition, your birthmark, your tattoo or scar. With a little practice you can apply skin camouflage products quickly and successfully as part of your daily routine or whenever you choose. If you are having ongoing medical treatment it is likely that skin camouflage can be used alongside. Products are easily removed with cleanser at the end of the day.
Q. Does skin camouflage cover tattoos?
Yes. Skin camouflage is one of the most effective ways of concealing unwanted tattoos but please be aware that very dark inked tattoos may still show through slightly.
Q. If I want a consultation, how do I find a skin camouflage consultant near to me?
SCA is based in Warwickshire and you can also contact the British Association of Skin Camouflage (BASC) who will advise you of the practitioners in your local area. BASC also has a list of all the support groups and charities associated with various skin conditions and disabilities.
The charity Changing Faces provides skin camouflage clinics nationwide which are run by trained volunteers. This is a free service although donations are appreciated. You can find more on the Changing Faces website.
Q. How does skin camouflage work with beauty make-up?
Using camouflage products on your face is very much like using a foundation or a concealer and powder. You don’t need to put more concealer or foundation over the top. You can still use your favourite blusher, bronzer, eye shadows and lipsticks as before and this has the added bonus of drawing attention away from the concealed area and to your most beautiful features.
